The Social Fund provides lump sum payments, grants and loans. Savings of £500 or more (£1,000 for those aged 60 or over) may affect how much you get (except for Cold Weather Payments and Winter Fuel Payments).

.: Sure Start Maternity Grants.

For babies due or born before 16 June 2002 £300
For babies due or born on or after 16 June 2002 £500

.: Social Fund Funeral Payment.

The necessary cost of specified items or services plus up to £600 for other funeral expenses

.: Loans and Community Care Grant from the Social Fund are discretionary and not for a standard amount.

Cold Weather Payment: £8.50
Winter Fuel Payment - minimum payment per household for winter 2001-2002 £200.00


.: Statutory Maternity Pay.

If your average gross earnings are £72.00 a week or more:  
Higher rate 90% of your average earnings  
Lower rate £75.00

.: Statutory Sick Pay.

If your average gross earnings are £72.00 a week or more:  
Standard rate £63.25

.: Maternity Allowance.

New standard rate (no longer 2 rates) £75.00
