Birth Control

Your GP or family planning clinic can provide advice and information on birth control. They can also give you free prescription for free contraceptive as well as pregnancy test. If you are pregnant and do not want to continue with the pregnancy, your GP should refer you to a gynecologist for a termination. Abortion here is legal and free under the NHS if there is a risk of psychological or physical harm to the mother or the baby. Abortion has to be approved by two doctors, in some clinics there is a charge.

.: If you are disabled.

Your GP should advise you about the services provided for people with disabilities under the NHS and also make sure that you get the service that you need. These include: health visitors who will come to your home to advice you on health and welfare benefits and district nurses who provide nursing care at home. If you are disable or looking after someone who is disable, you are entitle to an assessment of need under disability legislation, such as the Community Care Act or Care Act.
